THE ROLE

Transportation and Facilities Attendant plays a critical role in daily plant operations by safely transporting employees to and from work, delivering parts and materials, and ensuring all site offices and rest areas remain stocked with essential supplies. This position supports operational efficiency across the facility by coordinating employee transportation, vendor pickups, and routine supply restocking.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

Employee Transportation:

  • Safely transport employees to and from work between designated pickup points and the facility each workday
  • Maintain consistent and dependable morning and afternoon routes for employee transportation
  • Ensure all transported employees adhere to safety and company vehicle policies
  • Report any delays, vehicle issues, or changes to pickup/drop-off schedules to the supervisor immediately
  • Ensure vehicle remains properly fueled

Parts & Material Deliveries:

  • Pick up and deliver tools, materials, and parts from local and regional vendors
  • Assist maintenance and operations teams with urgent part requests and deliveries
  • Maintain organized records of deliveries and vendor transactions

Site Support Duties:

  • Refill and restock all site offices with necessary office supplies (paper, pens, printer ink, etc.)
  • Maintain restroom supplies (toilet paper, hand soap, paper towels, cleaning materials) in all operational and break areas
  • Check breakrooms and shared areas for general cleanliness and supply needs
  • Assist with unloading deliveries and organizing supply inventory when needed

Vehicle & Equipment Care:

  • Conduct daily inspections of assigned vehicles (fuel, fluids, tires, and cleanliness)
  • Report maintenance needs to supervisor immediately
  • Keep interior and exterior of vehicles clean and presentable

General Duties:

  • Communicate any route changes, supply shortages, or vendor delays promptly
  • Follow all safety protocols and company driving standards
  • Maintain a professional and courteous attitude when dealing with staff and vendors
  • Other duties as assigned

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Valid California driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Must provide a safe and secure parking space while the company vehicle is at employee’s

residence

  • Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Strong communication and time-management skills
  • Knowledge of Lost Hills, Wasco, Shafter, and Bakersfield areas preferred
  • Ability to work unsupervised for hours at a time
  • Previous experience in delivery driving, warehouse, or maintenance support roles
  • Basic mechanical or facility maintenance understanding helpful
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Environmental conditions – Must work outside in all different weather conditions including extreme cold and extreme heat. May at times be exposed to dangerous and/or toxic substances and must take necessary precautions to protect eyes, nose and skin from irritation and infection
  • Mental demands- Conditions that may lead to mental or emotional fatigue
  • Occasionally lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling 25 to 50 pounds
  • Climb on and around equipment and sit for long periods while operating equipment
  • Walk and stand for long periods of time
  • Able to climb a minimum of 2 story of stairs
