THE ROLE
We are seeking a skilled industrial electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment in an industrial setting. The industrial electrician will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our facility by diagnosing electrical issues, performing preventive maintenance, and implementing electrical upgrades.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and components, including wiring, conduits, motors, transformers, and circuit breakers
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems to ensure proper operation and compliance with safety standards
- Troubleshoot electrical problems, diagnose issues, and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime and enhance productivity
- Plan and execute electrical system upgrades and modifications to improve facility performance and efficiency
- Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to design and implement new electrical installations and control systems
- Ensure all electrical modifications comply with local, state, and federal regulations and standards
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment and prevent accidents and injuries
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify and address potential hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA standards and company policies
- Stay current with industry regulations, codes, and best practices to maintain compliance and improve operational safety
- Maintain accurate records of electrical maintenance activities, repairs, and system modifications
- Prepare and submit detailed reports on electrical system performance, maintenance activities, and any safety incidents or violations
- Communicate effectively with management, engineering, and maintenance teams regarding electrical issues and resolutions
- Operate and maintain a variety of electrical testing and diagnostic equipment, such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and thermal imaging cameras
- Provide training and guidance to junior electricians and maintenance staff to enhance their skills and knowledge of electrical systems and safety practices
- Assist in the development and implementation of electrical training programs for new employees and ongoing staff development
- Other duties as assigned
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

- High school diploma or GED required; completion of a formal apprenticeship program or technical training in electrical systems is preferred
- Valid journeyman or master electrician license in California
- Additional certifications in specialized electrical systems or equipment are a plus
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an industrial electrician in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Experience with Arc Flash Protection
- Proven experience with PLCs, motor controls, VFDs, and industrial automation systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on troubleshooting and preventive maintenance
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
- Familiarity with National Electrical Code (NEC) and relevant safety standards
- Willingness to work overtime, including evenings and weekends, as required
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Environmental conditions – Must work outside in all different weather conditions including extreme cold and extreme heat. May at times be exposed to dangerous and/or toxic substances and must take necessary precautions to protect eyes, nose and skin from irritation and infection
- Mental demands- Conditions that may lead to mental or emotional fatigue
- Occasionally lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling 25 to 50 pounds
- Climb on and around equipment and sit for long periods while operating equipment
- Walk and stand for long periods of time
- Able to climb a minimum of 2 story of stairs
